In what might be the swankiest sleepover of all time, a new hotel is taking up residence in the grounds of Paris’s Palace of Versailles.

Set to open in 2020, Airelles’ Le Grand Contrôle will give guests a prime spot to admire the surrounding gardens, grounds and Orangerie of the 385-year-old palace.

While guests won’t be unrolling their sleeping bags in the Hall of Mirrors, the hotel is set to offer 14 rooms which it promises will be steeped in history and filled with authentic elements. There will also be an Alain Ducasse restaurant, pool and wellness centre on-site.

Details at the moment are sparse, but the interior design will be handled by architect Christophe Tollemer, who has overseen several other Les Airelles properties including its palatial Courchevel hotel. If that’s anything to go by, visitors can expect lavish details befitting Marie Antoinette herself.
